Two Updates for our Weekend Gatherings
September 11th, 2020
Please watch this very important video update related to our church gatherings. Beginning this Sunday, we are strongly encouraging face coverings for everyone who chooses to worship with us in person at our facility. We are also reopening our Preschool and younger Children’s Ministry on Sunday, September 20th. RSVP is required to ensure we have space for your children.
We want to love our community and the people in it as well as we can while at the same time providing a space to worship together. Maintaining social distance, washing our hands, and encouraging masks are all important ways that we can love our community well.
Below are answers to some common questions regarding our gatherings, Children’s Ministry re-opening and our online services, as well.
What times can I watch the online services?
We will be live-streaming our normal worship services at 9:00 am and 10:45 am. We will offer live-streaming for both services on our website, Facebook Live, and our Grace Community Church apps on Amazon, Roku, and AppleTV. All services are also available on-demand online.
Will there be childcare?
YES! On September 20th, we plan to reopen our Preschool (birth-PreK) area of Grace Kids at 50% capacity. We hope to reopen our K-5th grade areas in the coming weeks as well. We are asking families to RSVP before Sunday Morning to ensure we will have space in our classrooms and volunteers to serve with your children.
What precautions will be taken in Children’s Ministry?
- All children entering Grace Kids will have their temperature taken, children will not be able to enter if their temperature is over 100.
- All volunteers will be required to be in masks.
- There will be extra cleaning precautions in place at our check in kiosks and in the classrooms.
- All children will sanitize their hands upon entering the rooms.
- No snacks or drinks in the classroom. Bottles will be given in the infant room.
- Classroom materials will not be shared among kids and each service will have their own freshly sanitized toys.
- All tables, chairs, and furniture will be sanitized between services.
- Children will be spaced out in both large & small groups environments
- Children will NOT be required to wear masks, but parents may choose to send them in one.
What if a GraceKids room is full and my child doesn’t have a spot?
We will continue to provide a bag with crayons & activity sheets for your child to use as they join you in service. There is also a family friendly area with tables in the garage where you can watch the service as a family.
Will there be social distancing?
As a part of trying to ensure a safe environment for worship, we ask that everyone practice social distancing in the atrium, auditorium, and everywhere on our church campus. We encourage everyone to sit with their household or family but to leave at least a chair of space between other households and families.
Can I get a mask at the church?
Absolutely! We will provide masks for those who do not have their own. There are masks stations at the entrance to both the Atrium and the Auditorium.
Will there be extra cleaning?
Yes! We will have hand sanitizer stations throughout our building. In between services, our staff and volunteers will disinfect high-touch surfaces, including our restrooms. Each week, our building is professionally cleaned following CDC recommendations.
What about coffee, water fountains, Info Cards, and the offering?
In an effort to limit high-touch activities, we will not serve coffee or use our water fountains. We will also not pass out Info Cards or pass our offering buckets. We encourage those who wish to give to use our online giving platform or our kiosks in the atrium. There is also a giving box next to our kiosks, as well.
